Megastar Akshay Kumar officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated film Kannappa. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the epic tale will release worldwide on April 25, 2025, in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
Taking to his Instagram, the actor shared the film’s striking new poster, accompanied by the tagline: “The Bravest Warrior. The Ultimate Devotee.” The movie will depict “The untold story of Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee,” promising a grand spectacle inspired by Indian culture and mythology.
Kannappa boasts an impressive lineup of stars and cameos from some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. Akshay Kumar himself will appear in a special role as Lord Shiva, while Prabhas portrays Nandi, and Mohanlal takes on another pivotal cameo. Kajal Aggarwal will grace the screen as Goddess Parvati, adding to the film’s celestial appeal.
This ambitious film is centered on the legendary tale of Bhakta Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, brought to life with a blend of cinematic scale, powerful storytelling, and a universal theme of unwavering devotion.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar has a stellar line-up of diverse and promising films including the aerial action war-drama “Sky Force” with Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Veer Paharia, the multi-starrers “Welcome 3” and “Houseful 5”, “Jolly LLB 3” with Arshad Warsi, the threequel to Hera Pheri, “Bhooth Bangla” with director Priyadarshan, “Shankara,” and more.
