Inspired by true events, Superboys of Malegaon tells the remarkable story of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from the small town of Malegaon, India, where Bollywood offers a vital escape from the daily grind. Nasir, driven by a passion to create for and with his community, rallies his friends to produce a film, infusing the town with new energy and hope.
Following its world premiere at TIFF on September 13, Superboys of Malegaon is set for its highly anticipated UK debut at the 68th BFI London Film Festival:
Superboys of Malegaon features a talented ensemble cast, including Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh (Mukkabaaz), and Shashank Arora (Made in Heaven) in lead roles. An Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby production, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, Superboys of Malegaon is directed by Reema Kagti and written by Varun Grover.
